The Three-Body Problem

It was very interesting to enter into a universe where Earth encounters an alien society but it’s filtered through a Chinese perspective.

A lot of it hinges on the question of “How would people react if we did make contact?” It plays around in the nuances - some would hope the alien society could fix humanity’s problems; some would look for the aliens to wipe humanity out; some would worship the aliens with religious fervor; and some would prepare for war.

The mix of science, culture, and history is fascinating, and it’s all done in a tidy way. I’ve never encountered anything quite like it.
