The Princess Switch: Switched Again
Posted on by Mac Slocum
Because I am a completist–or a masochist–I watched this sequel to “The Princess Switch.”
The first film didn’t have a plot. It was a series of holiday-themed meet cutes. Perhaps sensing the need to up the ante in the follow-up, the producers opted to swap a no-plot approach for a dense and convoluted story that includes three identical people (all played by Vanessa Hudgens) switching places.
I watched this movie with my full attention. I didn’t just put it on while I scrolled through my phone. I committed to this thing. Even with complete focus, I was often confused about who was who and when. (It was like watching “Dark,” but with 100% more tinsel.)
This concerns me because there’s a third “Princess Switch” film planned and I’m not sure I have the mental capacity to consume it.
