The Kingdom

I saw this a long time ago. I watched it again because it was one of those movies that popped up on Starz and I had a vague memory of liking it–or maybe just not hating it?

The message is ham-handed and it tilts into American Savior nonsense (it is a Peter Berg movie, and ham-handed patriotic savior stuff is his sweet spot).

The dual “kill them all” lessons on both sides at the very end are dumb and unearned.

The story is mediocre at best, but the film is well made and the performances and action are quite good.
