The Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Taika Waititi is a fascinating director.

What he did with “Thor Ragnarok” was amazing. Based off of how much I enjoyed that, I finally got around to seeing this earlier film, and you can see the foundations of “Ragnarok” in “Wilderpeople.”

There’s comedy (the timing and writing are impeccable), but there’s also warmth, and some exceptional filmmaking.
