The Collapsing Empire

John Scalzi is my kind of writer (I read all of the Old Man’s War series and Red Shirts was a phenomenal one-off).

He’s fun. He focuses on dialogue (which he’s got a knack for). He doesn’t get overly enamored with description (I’m looking at you, Justin “swirling eddies” Cronin). And his stories and characters are thoroughly enjoyable.

This is the first book in the Interdependency series and I’m already looking forward to reading the rest.
