Star Wars From a Certain Point of View

I picked this book up on a whim at the library. It’s a collection of 40 short stories covering secondary characters during “A New Hope.”
Some of the stories are forgettable, but others are tremendous.
Of particular note: The story about Omi, the creature swimming in sludge in the trash compactor, is amazing. I’m not kidding. Omi is force sensitive and the reason she grabs Luke is because she knows he’s force sensitive, too.
We also learn that “Red,” the droid Uncle Owen tries to buy before R2, intentionally malfunctioned so R2 could complete his mission.
And … the Cantina on Tatooine is named Chalmun’s and it’s owned by a wookie we never see.
Since I’m fascinated by all the in-between parts of the “Star Wars” universe, this was a fun read.
