Space Force, season 1

This is an excellent show made by an excellent cast.

Steve Carrell made Michael Scott likeable by tapping into empathy, and he leans into that with this show. He’s still funny as hell, but he’s also kind and decent. I’m already looking forward to season two.

A lot of critics didn’t go for this show. The combination of Carrell, Lisa Kudrow, John Malkovich, and show co-creator Greg Daniels probably created an unrealistic idea that “Space Force” would be the Next Great Comedy. It’s not that–it’s not great–but it’s still delightful.
