Class Action Park

This is a documentary about Action Park in New Jersey, which was known for being a “fun” death trap.

The film plays up the freedom kids had in the ’80s, with Action Park representing the apex of that freedom. I was initially concerned this winking sensibility would carry through the entire film, but it wisely pivots about half-way through. People died at this park. The documentary spends a decent amount of time considering the repercussions of negligence–both within the park and by society at large.

Also, to those folks who spout nonsense like “I grew up in the ’80s and I turned out fine,” take a moment to consider the kids who didn’t make it and who aren’t alive to make the same boast.
